Course Tips - Yellow Tees at Jack's Point

Course tips are generally available for most courses - but rarely from a women's perspective. We've set about to remedy this, starting with Jack's Point.  When playing an unfamiliar course, it's a confidence booster to stand on the tee-box and have a good idea as to where you need to land the ball to get the most bang for your drive. A well placed drive sets the tone for the rest of the hole.

Hole 1 - Par 4 Index 12. For an ideal approach to the green, land your drive on the right hand side of the fairway as it slopes from right to left. Need a target? Aim left of the big dark green tree.

Hole 2 - Par 4 Index 2. Aim for the rock in the middle of the fairway. When approaching the elevated green, club up to avoid landing in the green-side bunkers. Green slopes back to front.

Hole 3 - Par 3 Index 16. Check the flag location on this tiered green and avoid a challenging putt.

Hole 4 - Par 4 Index 10. Aim your drive at the second bunker from the right. Club up for the uphill approach to the green.

Hole 5 - Par 5 Index 6. Aim at the shark-fin shaped rock. Steer clear of the hazard on the right. Pay it safe for your second shot and aim left of the middle bunker.

Hole 6 - Par 4 Index 14. Avoid the hazards and the bunkers with an accurate tee shot.

Hole 7 - Par 3 Index 18. Short is preferable to long. The right hand side of the green feeds to the right.

Hole 8 - Par 5 Index 4. Aim at the right edge of the fairway. Approach the green from the right.

Hole 9 - Par 4 Index 8. Aim at the first bunker from the left. The green slopes left to right.

Hole 10 - Par 4 Index 13. This is the shortest par 4 on the course and the green is reachable for long hitters, at 222m. You could go with a 3 wood and aim at the edge of the path on the right. The other option id to divide the hole into roughly 2 110 m shots and teeing off with an iron with the aim of landing right of the bunkers.

Hole 11 - Par 3 Index 15. A short par 3, only 99m to the front edge of the green, but it is a large green - choose your club wisely.

Hole 12- Par 4 Index 3. Aim left of the bunker. The green is large and undulating.

Hole 13 - Par 3 Index 17. Thankfully you don't have to clear the wetland hazard. Try land your ball close to the pin and avoid long and sloped putts.

Hole 14 - Par 5 Index 7. Aim centre right on this uphill hole. The bunkers can be a real hazard as you get closer to the green. It is preferable to stay clear. Once on the green, it slopes from back to front and can be fast it putting from the back of the green.

Hole 15 - Par 4 Index 5. Aim just left of the bunkers and avoid hitting the stone wall. Club up to the elevated green. The green slopes back to front.

Hole 16 - Par 4 Index 11. A split fairway.  Aim between the two fairway bunkers on the left hand side of the fairway. Avoid the rocky outcrops.  in case you don't spot it, there is a bunker front right of the green, before the rocky outcrop on the right.

Hole 17 - Par 5 Index 9. Aim between the fairway bunkers The green slopes from left to right.

Hole 18 - Par 4 Index 1 - Aim between the fairway bunkers. approach the green from the right.
